Goku is ready to throw the Super Spirit Bomb, but Vegeta is in the way, and, despite Vegeta's pleas otherwise, he refuses to take out Vegeta along with Kid Buu. Suddenly, Fat Buu gets up and holds Kid Buu down long enough for Hercule to pull Vegeta to safety. Kid Buu kicks Fat Buu aside, and Goku throws the Super Spirit Bomb.

After Majin Vegeta's eruption, Piccolo returns to the scene of the battle. He finds no sign of Majin Vegeta left, and that Majin Buu has been blasted into thousands of small pieces. He also finds the top half of Babidi, who is begging for help. Suddenly, the pieces of Majin Buu begin to reform. They all combine to make Majin Buu whole again.

The series begins with a flashback of the destruction of Planet Vegeta at the hands of Frieza, and the upbringing of Goku on Earth as depicted in the original Dragon Ball series. Five years have passed since Goku's victory over Piccolo at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, and he has since married Chi-Chi and now has a son named Gohan.
Buu temporarily absorbs Gotenks to increase his own power, but Vegeta and Goku are able to retrieve him from Buu. When Buu destroys the Earth, Goten and Trunks are killed. The Time Patroller then goes to the timeline where Goku and Vegeta defeat Kid Buu. After defeating Kid Buu, Trunks who has since recovered from his encounter with Janemba reveals there was a Masked Saiyan assisting Janemba & suspects they are nearby collecting energy from the battle.
Goku easily fights off the two of them, but then Vegeta shows up. According to Hercule, it seems that Baby has laid eggs inside of everyone on Earth, turning them all into Tuffles. Baby even laid an egg inside of Majin Buu, but Buu was able to spit it out. Buu and Hercule, through Buu's protection, are the only two that escaped Baby's rampage.
