Riverway is a riverfront parkland attraction located in the Condon Suburb of Townsville that opened in July 2006. It stretches along 11 km (7 mi) of the Ross River, with areas at Pioneer Park, Loam Island, Apex Park and Ross Park at the Ross River Dam. [1] The areas of Riverway that have been completed are Pioneer Park and Loam Island.
The Townsville Artist Markets are hosted by Pinnacles Gallery and is currently held at Riverway every 2–3 months, and are planned to run from 1pm until 5pm on a Saturday. The markets contain stalls from artists and crafts people of the region, as well as entertainment from workshops, local musicians and La Luna Arts performances.
Condon is part of the Upper Ross District and is the first of three suburbs along Riverway Drive. Townsville's Ring road (now part of the Bruce Highway) runs through Condon with the Vickers Bridge across the Ross River connecting Condon with Douglas and the southern suburbs. Thuringowa State High School is also in this suburb.

Townsville also has a go cart track and motocross track; Townsville had a 1/4-mile dragstrip, but it closed its gates on 25 August 2012 due to urban development. Rowing occurs at Townsville & JCU Rowing Club and Riverway Rowing Club. Both clubs cater to competitive masters, social, learn to row and school-based rowing programs.
