Jonah Shacknai (born 1957) [1] is an American pharmaceutical executive. He was the founder of Illustris Pharmaceuticals [2] [3] and was the founder, chairman and CEO of Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation. [1] He also served as chief aide to the US House of Representatives' committee for health policy. [4]
The company's founder, Jonah Shacknai, came to media attention in 2011 due to investigations into the deaths of his son Max and girlfriend Rebecca Zahau. A jury in a 2018 civil trial concluded that the death of Zahau a homicide by Jonah's brother, Adam Shacknai.
On September 20, 2011, Jonah Shacknai wrote a letter to California Attorney General Kamala Harris requesting a state review of the investigation. Shacknai himself did not doubt the findings of investigations, but said he hoped a review would bring "confidence, comfort and resolution" to others close to Zahau.
