Jermaine Dupri Mauldin (born September 23, 1972) is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, music executive, and entrepreneur. [4] [5] Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, as the son of Columbia Records executive Michael Mauldin, he began his career in music production at the age of nine. He discovered the teen hip-hop duo Kris Kross in 1991.
While recording the album, the group didn’t feel like it had any singles so they contacted Jermaine Dupri who was executive producing the project, to go back into the recording studio. The duo's attorney, Vince Phillips, who also a business partner and friend of the producer Lil Jon called him in to produce the new track for the duo.
