In 2009 the Nam Định Football team changed its name to Megastar Nam Định and failed in standing on V.League to 1st level tournament 2010. From 2003 to present, the club currently competes in the V.League with a sponsor of former minister Đinh La Thăng as a businessman, the top flight of Vietnamese football .

Xuân Thủy National Park (Vietnamese: Vườn quốc gia Xuân Thủy) is a national park in Hong River Biosphere Reserve in Nam Định Province, Vietnam.The national park was established according to the Decision number 01/2003/QĐ-TTg dated 2 January 2003 signed by premier Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, this decision turned Xuân Thủy Wetland Nature Reserve into Xuân Thủy National Park.
Nguyễn Văn Dũng (born 1963) is a retired football player of Nam Định and the Vietnam national football team. He also served as the head coach of Nam Định in 2019. When he was still playing, he often played as striker. He was a member of the Vietnamese team at a number of tournaments such as SEA Games 16 (1991) and Tiger Cup 1998.
