Priceline is great when you absolutely know you’ll be taking the flight and want something cheap. If you have any kind of situation and need a change that becomes the issue with Priceline. I had to eat 900.00 flight to Germany that they refused to change.
Today I reserved a rental car with Priceline at the Atlanta airport because there was a high risk of missing my flight. I specifically chose Priceline because in big bold green letters it said FREE CANCELLATION. As it turned out, I sprinted through the airport and made my flight with only a few minutes to spare.
Priceline is the worst, once I stayed in a Priceline hotel where they choose, found the top of a human finger in the tub, and only got a 15% discount on a future purchase. A human finger. I'd been using them for like 20 years and they've lost me as a customer forever.
Priceline will tell you tough luck, and do bare minimum to help you. Their info will always be behind the airline, and they have less knowledge than a representative of an actual airline. If you buy through priceline or any 3rd party generally you can't pick a seat, or choose a meal, or a number of things you might be able to do directly ...
Assuming Priceline is the merchant listed on your bank statement for the airfare, you're going to have to give them 60 days from the day you advised them of the issue. If 60 days passes without resolution, then you may sue them in small claims in Connecticut or seek arbitration which can be done online.
I booked a room at the Clarion through Priceline for a hundred bucks, leaving a little under two hundred in the account. Per the terms, the hotel takes a $150 deposit. When I arrived to check in, the front desk tried repeatedly to run my card for the deposit, and it kept declining.
The only catch is the name of the hotel will be disclosed after making the payment. If you are fine with that, every thing is good. I did had to pay aroun $10 extra , once, as the hotel guys say Priceline do not collect tax. Apart from that, no surprises.Priceline Express Deals on Hotel Review
Since my tickets were one of those hot deal things Priceline does they won’t give me a refund. Instead I have until October this year to use a “credit” for another United flight but, you know, the pandemic isn’t over and I have no desire to try to fly anywhere.
My room rate was very good compared to normal prices and was exactly what I could afford. On the other hand Priceline charged me 63% of the total room cost in fees and services. When I compare this to what the hotel would’ve charged, the hotel would charge 19%. So obviously this is how Priceline makes money on people who book with them.
