Santa Rita Hotel was a historic building located in downtown Tucson, Arizona. It was designed by architect Henry Trost in the Mission Revival Style and built in 1903 by Quintus Monier. The hotel was considered the finest hotel in the Arizona Territory at the time of its opening.
Manning served as mayor of Tucson from 1905 to 1907. He was elected on an anti-gambling platform. He was also involved with real estate, the mining industry, the Santa Rita Hotel, a merchandising business, the gas and electric company as well as the streetcar company. He was one of the largest property holders in Tucson.

The Arizona Theatre Company (ATC) was founded by Sandy Rosenthal in 1966 as the Arizona Civic Theatre. [1] It originally performed in the basement of the old Santa Rita Hotel in Tucson. In 1972, the company achieved full professional status and became a member of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT). [citation needed]
