Jason started out the supercross season strong with a 2nd place in Anaheim. He struggled with the many mud races of the year but managed to rebound at the end of the season. He achieved 4 podium finishes and ended 5th in final standings (tied in points with Eli Tomac but without a win). Jason managed to complete the full motocross season.

The 2012 FIM Motocross World Championship was the 56th F.I.M. Motocross World Championship season. It included 30 races at 15 events including The Netherlands, Bulgaria, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, France, Portugal, Belgium, Sweden, Latvia, Russia, Czech Republic, Great Britain and Germany.
From 2007 until 2012, a formula nomenclature similar to IndyCar was used, with the 450cc class known as Supercross and 250cc as Supercross Lites. Starting in 2013, the AMA and Feld Motor Sports returned to the traditional nomenclature, based on four-stroke engines: 450cc (known as "MX1" in Europe), and 250cc (also known as "MX2").
2007 Stefan was racing in the biggest enduro competition in the world Gotland grand national in Sweden but he didn't finish because his radiators became full of mud and the bike became overheated. 2008 Stefan was once again one of the riders in Gotland grand national but he crashed in the end of the race and didn't finish.
