Fargo-Moorhead Community Theatre presents comedies, dramas, youth shows, and musicals in a theatre in Island Park south of downtown. Fargo Theatre is a 1926 Art Deco movie theater which presents classic and current films, live productions, and other events. The Fargo-Moorhead Opera is a non-profit, professional opera company.
The Fargo School District owns the buildings on the site, while the City of Moorhead owns the land. The need for Bluestem Center for the Arts arose due to continuous flooding at the previous home for Trollwood Performing Arts School at Trollwood Park in North Fargo. Initially, the local communities welcomed the center.
The Fargo Theatre is an art deco movie theater in downtown Fargo, North Dakota, United States. Construction on the building began in the fall of 1925 and the theatre opened on March 15, 1926. After a flood and fire destroyed their Grand Forks office, the Reader moved its office to Fargo. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Brevoort was commissioned by Fargo Moorhead Opera and the Decameron Opera Coalition to write Dinner 4 3, a 10-minute opera with composer Michael Ching, inspired by a story from The Decameron, as part of a new opera web series called Tales from a Safe Distance.
