Maybach 62 S. The Maybach 62 S (Spezial) appeared in November 2006 at the Auto China 2006 exhibit in Beijing. It features the same engine as the 57 S, a 612 PS (450 kW; 604 hp) twin-turbo V12 made by Mercedes-Benz AMG. However, the suspension remains untouched. 236 of the original and 256 units of the model year 2010 (post-facelift) were made.
V-12 Maybach HL230 P30, developing 700 PS. [a]This is an incomplete list of gasoline engines designed by Maybach AG, manufactured by Maybach and other firms under licence, and fitted in various German tanks (German: Panzerkampfwagen, French: chars blindés) and half-tracks before and during World War II.
The engine uses smaller twin scroll type turbos (for reduced turbo-lag), a bespoke Bosch ECU, a modified intercooler configuration, and dry sump lubrication. It produces 730 PS (537 kW; 720 hp) at 5800 rpm [ 8 ] and 1,000 N⋅m (738 lb⋅ft) of torque at 2250-4500 rpm. [ 8 ]
One of Otto's more than 25 patents on this engine was later challenged and overturned, allowing Daimler and Maybach to produce their high-speed engine. The S62 was BMW's first V8 engine to have double-VANOS (variable valve timing on the intake and exhaust camshafts). [35] The S62 engine produces 294 kW (400 PS; 394 hp) at 6600 rpm and 500 N⋅m (369 lb⋅ft) at 3800 rpm. [36] The redline is 7000 rpm. [37] [38] The bore and stroke are 94 mm (3.7 in) and 89 mm (3.5 in) respectively. This results ...
With these modifications and the addition of Mercedes-Benz's 7G-Tronic transmission on the V12 models, it is estimated that fuel economy will rise about 21% on the European cycle for the large-bodied Mercedes vehicles. Power is now at 530 PS (390 kW; 523 hp) and torque figures stay the same as the predecessor at 830 N⋅m (612 lb⋅ft).
