Ifrah Ahmed was born in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1989. At the age of eight years old, Ahmed underwent enforced circumcision at the hands of a family member who was a licensed doctor. [ 1 ] It was during the Ethiopian War that Ahmed retreated from Somalia to Ireland at the age of 17.
