Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Institute is a public high school in the Malvern neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The school operates grades 9 through 12 under the sanction of the Toronto District School Board. Opened in 1978, it formerly was part of the Scarborough Board of Education.
After establishment as a Township in 1850, school districts were formed, and administration provided locally. Eventually, the former Scarborough Board of Education was established in the growing post World War 2 years. Bonis' "A History of Scarborough" (1963, and revised after 1967 Borough Status) goes into GREAT detail, and will be cited later.
From Scarborough beginnings, the school added Toronto campus in 1977, Malvern in 1982, North York in 1984, Parkdale in 1986, ESL Orientation Centre in 1988, La Salle (Alternative) in 1993, Curzon (Alternative) in 1994, and in 1994 merged the two small west end campuses, Parkdale and North York into Islington Campus.
