New Hampshire Route 9 (abbreviated NH 9 and also known as the Franklin Pierce Highway [2]) is a 109.910-mile-long (176.883 km) state highway located in southern New Hampshire. It runs across the state from west to east and is a multi-state route with Vermont and Maine , part of 1920s-era New England Interstate Route 9 .

WYO 59 turns west onto 2nd Street and runs concurrently with US 14/USv16/I-90 BL. Around 118 miles (190 km), WYO 59 begins to turn north and intersects WYO 50 (Skyline Drive). WYO 50 used to be routed down 4J Road into Gillette. Sometime between 1980 and 1993, WYO 50 was transferred to Skyline Drive, which provides easier access to I-90.
Highway 50 continues north-northeast into Gillette, intersecting Interstate 90 (Exit 124) and the south end of I-90 Business. I-90 BUS runs concurrent with WYO 50 for a short distance until WYO 50's northern terminus at a "T" intersection with US 14/US 16/WYO 59. I-90 BUS continues east from here overlapping US 14/US 16/ WYO 59.
The road ascends a windy path through steep Shell Canyon and rejoins US 14A at the top of the range at Burgess Junction. [1] The road is designated as Bighorn Scenic Byway between Shell and Dayton on the eastern side of the mountain range. On the east side of the Bighorn Mountains, the road merges with I-90 and travels southeast to Sheridan.
