I have been driving with them for about a month without any issues. I am still putting the finishing touches on the auto leveling function, but ...
Of course if I let go of the handle it then goes to either high beam or low beam and once more very dim. Replace your xenon HID burners and igniters, they are twelve years old and heaven knows on how many hours. 12,000 miles / 50 miles/hour is about 250 hours per year and the burners have 2000 hour service life.
I have stock halogen headlight assemblies in my 2009 128i. I have always wanted to upgrade both headlights to the bi-xenon style. I am wondering if anyone has tried to do this? Perhaps you could shed some light on this. I am afraid that this is quite an undertaking.

Xenon headlamps also turn as you turn; I'm not sure if standard halogens do or not. Here are two BMW F10's from my local dealer's website. Without xenon headlamps:
5. install the blue wire tap and the unstripped end of speaker wire on the offending (read shorted pin) wire behind the plug. 6. follow the offending pin on the board, to a suitable location and slip the blade under a metal strip urgent: Make sure it is not shorting between 2 strips!!!).
In the US market, BMWs equipped with bi-xenon headlamps also come with adaptive headlamps. Foglights were standard on the 3.0i and 3.0si, and optional on the 2004-2005 2.5i models. The adaptive headlight function itself is the swivel of the headlamps left/right up to 15° based on various sensors and steering input.
Not sure if that's a separate item on those headlights, or if it has to be ordered with whole assembly. Checking, please standby... Philippe Kahn. Sales Manager. South Bay BMW --A BMWNA recognized Center of Excellence. philippek@philippek.com. 512.762.5246c. Check out The Daily Driver on youtube.
The non-xenon X3 have halogen reflectors, if you put in an aftermarket HID kit, you will blind the oncoming drivers and you still would not have the LED angel eyes or the adaptive headlights. You can probably find a HID headlight assembly on Ebay for about $300, but you would still need the bulb and the ballast.

So now, obviously, I have been looking for an upgrade. I called the Dealership and was told that it's not "possible" to upgrade my ...
