Jun 18, 2023. #3. I would keep the HX Stomp. It does much, much MORE than the Plethora X3 and you don't need an amp to use the HX. Run it direct to FOH, use it at home with headphones, you could add a vol/exp pedal and besides it's small & very portable ! And of course...use it with your amp.
Hello everyone, I love the Plethora X5 because it's a quality digital Multi-FX with a strong hardware approach: it feels like having 5 (editable) pedals. However, after a few months of usage and several improvements made by the designers, here are a few suggestions that I would like to see:
Feb 25, 2020. #5. HX Fx has more fx variety but I like the format of the Plethora a lot more. Reverbs are the weak link of the Helix fx set too. Line6 prices in EU seem to have gone up a lot lately based on Thomann pricing. Someone mentioned a +300 euro bump for the Helix Floor and the HX Stomp and Effects used to be under 500.
A new HX is only $100 more than a new Plethora X5, a used HX is cheaper than a new Plethora by roughly $100-150, and used both units go for just about the same price. Click to expand... Ya I'm seeing you can get the plethora x5 for as cheap as $400 used on reverb. Seems like that might be the way to go. I only see myself needing probably 3 ...
The signal path between the X5 and using "real" pedals is not the same. The X5 cannot give an effect engine an analogue-dry-bypass with an analogue mix knob on the top like the real pedals do, because your signal is already in the digital domain. Creating Wet/Dry/Wet setups would require a lot of thought, I suspect.
Offering a parallel signal chain option would allow the Plethora, a Fractal "AXE FX-type" of sophistication that is currently lacking in the multi-effects pedal class. A signal chain that is "serial-only" is limiting enough, offering a 127 board-combinations, is redundant as its value seems only as a marketing spec.
Use these features with caution. • Create new restore point: Create a restore point and save it on your Plethora X5/X3. • Apply latest restore point: Apply the locally stored restore point (if any is saved). • System export: export a restore point. This will reboot the device, and export a file to the.
HX Stomp for amp modeling, Plethora for modulation/delay/reverb. I highly doubt the Plethora will have amp modeling. YavaraKatraAnemia said: 1) They said in september this is not a multifx. 2) they said in the latest tease "build it". I believe this is a floor toneprint editor which will work alone as a switching system.
The Plethora deals with its loop and the insertion points as different things. Although both things use the same jacks they are different. To Plethora an 'effects loop' is one that has one of the stomp buttons occupied to turn it on and off, it incorporates a closed loop of real outboard pedal/s for you to replace a stomp location with.
