Atypon acquired the Metapress business from EBSCO Information Services in 2014, with the Metapress platform to be discontinued and customers moved to Atypon's Literatum platform. [4] In October 2016, Atypon was purchased by academic publisher John Wiley & Sons for $120 million. [5] Atypon operates as a separate, independent business unit of Wiley.
