League of Legends (LoL), commonly referred to as League, is a 2009 multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Riot Games. Inspired by Defense of the Ancients , a custom map for Warcraft III , Riot's founders sought to develop a stand-alone game in the same genre.
The league comprises 18 teams and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Egyptian Second Division A. Seasons mostly run from August to May. Unlike most other leagues, games are played on all days of the week. The Egyptian Premier League was founded in 1948, unifying the local leagues that had existed previously.
