Berserk (Japanese: ベルセルク, Hepburn: Beruseruku) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kentaro Miura.Set in a medieval Europe–inspired dark fantasy world, the story centers on the characters of Guts, a lone swordsman, and Griffith, the leader of a mercenary band called the "Band of the Hawk".
It is a collaboration between Koei Tecmo's Dynasty Warriors video game series and Kentaro Miura's Berserk manga series. Berserk and the Band of the Hawk was released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on October 27, 2016, and worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in February 2017. It is based on the popular Berserk manga by Kentarō Miura and the game is set between volume 22 and 23 of the manga; right after Guts and Puck depart for Elfhelm with Casca (chapter 182), but before Farnese, Serpico, and Isidro catch up with them (chapter 190). The music is composed by Susumu Hirasawa, who also composed the anime series' music.
The game's story covers part of the Millennium Empire Arc from the manga volumes 22 to 27. With its more detailed polygonal models, it is visually more sophisticated than its five years' predecessor on Sega Dreamcast. The maps are much larger than in the first game. A motion capture process was used for added realism in character moves.
