October 2 – Two Ilyushin Il-38 reconnaissance aircraft collided while flying in formation during the Indian Navy's Squadron 315 "The Winged Stallions" silver jubilee celebrations at Dabolim Naval Air Base in Goa, India. 17 people were killed, including all twelve crew members on board the two aircraft.
