Pucci seeks to avenge Dio and continue his plans to "attain heaven" by wiping out the Joestar family and rewriting reality into Dio's image. The Green Baby [t] is a homunculus created by Sports Maxx using a bone given to Pucci by Dio. After absorbing the souls of thirty-six prisoners, the homunculus gains a visible form and awakens.
The gang also includes Emporio Alnino, a boy born within the prison whose mother was killed, and Foo Fighters, a sentient colony of plankton possessing a dead inmate. Jolyne recovers Jotaro's Stand and memories, and discovers that Whitesnake's user is the prison chaplain, Enrico Pucci; she manages to escape in pursuit of him.
Joseph is able to pass it on to Jotaro, but is killed by Dio, who extends his ability duration from 5 to 9 seconds thanks to Joseph's blood. Jotaro then fights Dio alone, slowly discovering that he shares Dio's time-stopping ability. The battle ends with Jotaro defeating Dio using the ability and subsequently killing him.
Dio attempts to kill Jotaro with one final kick, but a counterattack from Jotaro splits The World in two, killing it and Dio. Jotaro transfuses Dio's blood back into Joseph and uses Star Platinum to restart his stopped heart (an ability he'd previously used on himself while playing dead during the fight with Dio), reviving him.
Matthew Mercer provides Jotaro Kujo's English voice in the TV anime.
