Theodore William Gamelin is an American mathematician. He is a professor emeritus of mathematics at the University of California, Los Angeles. [1]Gamelin was born in 1939. He received his B.S. degree in mathematics from Yale University in 1960, [1] and completed his Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley in 1963.
A different meaning for topological game, the concept of “topological properties defined by games”, was introduced in the paper of Rastislav Telgársky, [4] and later "spaces defined by topological games"; [5] this approach is based on analogies with matrix games, differential games and statistical games, and defines and studies topological ...

A full-text database or a complete-text database is a database that contains the complete text of books, dissertations, journals, magazines, newspapers or other kinds of textual documents. They differ from bibliographic databases (which contain only bibliographical metadata , including abstracts in some cases) and non-bibliographic databases ...
In text retrieval, full-text search refers to techniques for searching a single computer-stored document or a collection in a full-text database. Full-text search is distinguished from searches based on metadata or on parts of the original texts represented in databases (such as titles, abstracts, selected sections, or bibliographical references).
The tradeoff between availability, consistency and latency, as described by the PACELC theorem. In database theory, the PACELC theorem is an extension to the CAP theorem. It states that in case of network partitioning (P) in a distributed computer system, one has to choose between availability (A) and consistency (C) (as per the CAP theorem), but else (E), even when the system is running ...

Database theory encapsulates a broad range of topics related to the study and research of the theoretical realm of databases and database management systems.. Theoretical aspects of data management include, among other areas, the foundations of query languages, computational complexity and expressive power of queries, finite model theory, database design theory, dependency theory, foundations ...
