Hell of the Living Dead (Italian: Virus – L'inferno dei morti viventi) is a 1980 horror film directed by Bruno Mattei.The film is set in a laboratory in Papua New Guinea that releases a dangerous chemical, turning the technicians and locals into zombies.

They are commonly portrayed as anthropophagous in nature—labeling them as cannibals would imply zombies are still members of the human species, and expert opinions quoted in some of the films below, e.g. Dawn of the Dead, specifically state this is not the case.
