The Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC), formerly the Confederation of Reformed Evangelical Churches, [2] was founded in 1998 as a body of churches that hold to Reformed theology. [3] Member churches include those from Presbyterian , Reformed , and Reformed Baptist backgrounds.
The CREC Foundation, a tax-exempt charitable 501 (c)(3) organization, was established in 2005 to support the Capitol Region Education Council its members, programs, and schools. The Foundation is governed by a board of directors. By design, the majority of CREC Foundation directors also serve on the Capitol Region Education Council.
During the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, CREC was added to Ukraine's International Sponsors of War list for continuing its operations in Russia. [7] While numerous global corporations scaled back or fully exited the Russian market in response to the invasion and subsequent international sanctions, CREC chose to maintain its presence.

The CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Half Day (known formerly as the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts) is an integrated magnet arts high school serving students in Hartford, Connecticut and its surrounding towns. It is one of four schools located on the 16-acre (65,000 m 2) campus of The Learning Corridor.
