Getter Robo G (ゲッターロボG, Gettā Robo Jī), known as Starvengers in the United States, is a super robot anime series by Toei Animation based on Hundred Demons Empire arc of Getter Robo manga by Go Nagai and Ken Ishikawa.
In Getter Robo Armageddon, he is the adoptive father of the amnesiac Genki Saotome. Professor Saotome (早乙女博士, Saotome-hakase) Voiced by: Kousei Tomita - Inventor of the Getter Robo. In the original manga, he initially piloted the third jet himself, only to have Musashi forcibly take over the role from him.
Additionally, it featured new insect-like enemies from the far future, later used in Getter Arc, which would also revisit the fate of Getter G. All of this was told in the Getter Robo Go manga prequel, Shin Getter Robo, started in 1996 and lasted two tankōbon volumes. The title was later reprinted into a single aizōban volume of 500 pages.
The manga written by Ishikawa is a sequel to the original Getter Robo manga and its second instalment, Getter Robo G, taking place some years after G. Go itself is followed by the Getter Robo Arc manga and anime. The Getter Robo Go anime is a very loose adaptation of the manga.
Ken Ishikawa (石川賢, Ishikawa Ken, June 28, 1948 – November 15, 2006) was a Japanese manga artist.He is renowned as the co-creator (with Go Nagai) of the Getter Robo anime series, as well as four of their subsequent manga continuations.
