The Darden-Gifford House is a historic house in rural White County, Arkansas, north of Arkansas Highway 5 near the community of Rose Bud.It is a two-story wood-frame structure, with a side gable roof, weatherboard siding, and a two-story porch sheltered by a projecting gable-roofed section.
On 2 June 1855, the cargo vessel Rosebud, owned by one of the colony's best known pastoralists Edward Hobson, was washed over the large sandbars and onto the beach.The burgeoning community made off with the cargo of damask and household goods, but the wreck remained for many years as the locals slowly stripped its hull to use in the construction of houses.
This supposedly haunted house was built in the late 1800s by J.W. Darden. After he died in 1903 his wife lived there for another five years before she sold it. Later in 1976 it was added to the National Historic Register. It was then sold to Nick Stark, who for a time leased it to the woman that spotted these strange events, Priscilla Stone.
