Lokmat ( lit. ' People's Opinion ') is a Marathi-language newspaper published in Maharashtra, India. Founded in 1971 by Jawaharlal Darda, it is the largest read Marathi-language newspaper in India. Vijay Jawaharlal Darda (born 14 May 1950) [2] is a politician from Indian National Congress party, and was a Member of the Parliament of India representing Maharashtra in the Rajya Sabha since 1998, having been elected for three consecutive terms into the upper house of the Indian Parliament.
