Aragon was a native of Guatemala City; [2] her date of birth is given in various sources as 1897, [3] 1899, [4] [5] or 1910. [6] She joined the Grupo Artístico Nacional in 1918; in 1945 she ceased stage activity and turned instead to the radio, broadcasting a program entitled Radioteatro Infantil, La voz de Guatemala .
Ponce Vaides was born in a wealthy upper-class family in Cobán, Alta Verapaz.His father was Mariano Ponce Contreras, his mother Victoria Vaides Arrivillaga. During the government of Manuel Estrada Cabrera, Vaides took part in the National Campaign of 1906 against Honduras and El Salvador.
From 1957 she was employed as a university professor at her alma mater, as well as Rafael Landívar University and Universidad del Valle de Guatemala. [3] She was a lecturer at the Autonomous University of Madrid and served as guest writer on numerous international congresses held in Costa Rica, France, Germany, France, Germany, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Spain, Sweden, the US and Venezuela. Manuel José Estrada Cabrera (21 November 1857 – 24 September 1924) was the President of Guatemala from 1898 to 1920. A lawyer with no military background, he modernised the country's industry and transportation infrastructure, via granting concessions to the American-owned United Fruit Company, whose influence on the government was deeply unpopular among the population.
