The 2019 FIVB Women's World Cup was the 13th edition of the event, contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The tournament was held from 14 to 29 September 2019 in Japan. [1]
This was the first and last Women's Nine-a-side volleyball event at the 1962 Asian Games. ^[2] The new calculation method of the FIVB Senior World Rankings was implemented on February 1, 2020 where every match results in any annual FIVB-sanctioned event from January 1, 2019 is taken into account of a country's rating in the World Rankings.
Due to inactivity or non-participation in annual FIVB-sanctioned events since 2019, the Philippines lost 100 WR points and was removed from the world rankings.
