Brimsek was born in Eveleth, Minnesota on September 26, 1913. [1] His parents were of Slovene descent. [2] The town of Eveleth produced at that time four other hockey players who would play in the National Hockey League (NHL): Mike Karakas, Sam LoPresti, Al Suomi and John Mariucci. [3]
