Regional Science High School for Region 1 (RSHS) is a Magnet school of the Department of Education (Philippines), established in 1994 by virtue of DECS Order No. 69, s.1993. The school has a curriculum that specializes in science and research (different from Special Science Program/Engineering and Science Education Program schools).
A final grade of 85% in English, Science and Mathematics; A final grade of 83% in all other learning areas, and; A weighted average of at least 85%. Students should maintain a grade of 85 for major subjects and 83 in minor subjects. If a student fails to meet this requirement, he or she would be put under probation for the following year.
In January 2009, Caloocan City Science High School was officially recognized as an independent science high school by the National Capital Region office of the Department of Education (DepEd). The school provides Mandarin, Nihongo, and French language classes under DepEd's Special Program in Foreign Language. [3]
