The University of Ottawa (French: Université d'Ottawa), often referred to as uOttawa or U of O, is a bilingual public research university in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The main campus is located on 42.5 hectares (105 acres) directly to the northeast of Downtown Ottawa across the Rideau Canal in the Sandy Hill neighbourhood .
During the next 8 years, Les Éditions published 51 books. The first English title, Ottawa, Old and New by Lucien Brault, a history professor, was published in 1946. Forty years later, Les Éditions de l'Université d'Ottawa became the University of Ottawa Press (Les Presses de l'Université d'Ottawa).
Joseph-Henri Tabaret (12 April 1828 – 8 February 1886) was a French-born Roman Catholic Priest and academic, best known because of his long and important association with the University of Ottawa. He was a member of the Oblate Fathers of Mary Immaculate. The Oblates founded the College of Bytown in 1848.
