Maisemore is a village and civil parish in Gloucestershire, England. It lies on the A417 road 2.5 miles (4 km) northwest of Gloucester , on the west bank of the River Severn . In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 488, [ 1 ] reducing to 458 at the 2011 census.
The parish is presently split between four wards of the Borough of Cheltenham: Swindon Village, Prestbury, Pittville (a very small part) and Oakley; three electoral divisions of the county of Gloucestershire: St Paul's and Swindon, Pittville and Prestbury, and All Saints and Oakley; and two parliamentary constituencies: Tewkesbury and Cheltenham.
Rodmarton is situated approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) north-east of Tetbury and 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Cirencester, and is close to Gloucestershire's border with Wiltshire. The village's proximity to Wiltshire appears to give origin to part of the parish's name, as the Old English maer means "boundary". [3] [7]
