The Liberty Cup is a trophy awarded to the winner of the college football game between Columbia University and Fordham University, two National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I football programs in New York City. The cup was awarded annually from 2002 to 2015, but the two teams have not met since then.

The 2012 Fordham Rams football team represented Fordham University as a member of the Patriot League during the 2012 NCAA Division I FCS football season.Led by first-year head coach Joe Moorhead, the Rams compiled an overall record of 6–5.
The Cup also honored the thousands of others who lost their lives on September 11. Columbia called off the series before the 2015 season, making that season's encounter (a 44–24 Fordham win), the Cup's last. The series ended with the Rams holding a 10–4 Liberty Cup lead and victories in the final six meetings.

In 2009, the two school's club-level ice hockey teams established the 87 Challenge Cup, an annual three game round-robin challenge for a replica I-87 road sign; both of the team's logos and winning years are engraved on the back. Siena leads that series, 2–1.
