To avoid confusion with another Royalton Township in northwest Ohio and another Royalton village in southeastern Ohio, its name was changed to North Royalton Township in 1881. The township ceased to exist in April 1927, when it incorporated into the village of North Royalton . [ 28 ]
Royalton was laid out in 1810. [2] An early variant name was Tobytown. [ 3 ] A post office was established at Royalton in 1818, and remained in operation until 1909.
