The house was purchased by musician Sting and his second wife Trudie Styler in 1990. [4] Sting recorded his album Ten Summoner's Tales in the house, and the couple run an organic farm on the estate. In 1999 Styler co-authored The Lake House Cookbook, with her chef, Joseph Sponzo, which contains photographs and information about the house.

The song, co-produced by Sting with Hugh Padgham, was released as a single on 7 June 1993 by A&M Records, reaching No. 16 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 23 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

It is located 9.5 miles north of the county seat New Lexington and has a dedicated historical district.
