The Chevrolet Colorado (sharing mechanical commonality with the GMC Canyon) is a series of compact pickup trucks (mid-size since second generation) marketed by American automaker General Motors. They were introduced in 2004 to replace the Chevrolet S-10 and GMC S-15 /Sonoma compact pickups.
In 1926, Northway Motor Division was liquidated and its Detroit plant was sold to Chevrolet on March 31 to become the Chevrolet Gear and Axle Div. Part of the engine tooling machinery was transferred to the Yellow Sleeve-Valve Engine Works at East Moline IL. Some Northway engines were still used by some GMC trucks (K-series) until at least 1930.
The long-running C/K nomenclature was retired by Chevrolet in favor of a singular Chevrolet Silverado nameplate (as GMC had done in 1988 with the GMC Sierra). The C220, C221, C223 is a 2.2L engine with 58 hp and 93 ft·lb of torque used in the 1981–1982 Chevrolet LUV and the 1981 through 1987 Isuzu P'up; GM also used the C220 series as an option (RPO LQ7) with the Chevrolet S10/GMC S15; low demand led to its discontinuation after the 1985 model year where subsequent S-series were gasoline powered.
