USS Yorktown (CV/CVA/CVS-10) is one of 24 Essex -class aircraft carriers built during World War II for the United States Navy. On May 8, 1942, during the Battle of the Coral Sea, Lieutenant Ricketts was in charge of a damage control party on board the Yorktown.
