Side stripes with the "GT/CS" die-cut logo, along with a rear decklid stripe were included, and were available in white, black, red, and metallic medium blue only. It was available in all standard Mustang colors for 1968, all Ford engine and transmission combinations (except 427/C-6, which was dropped for all '68s).
Ford SYNC became available as a factory-installed option on all trim levels of the Mustang except the base model. This generation was the first to be sold in Japan in left-hand-drive form with exterior lighting modifications to comply with Japanese Government regulations.

Later in production, Ford offered leather as an option, and offered white as an exterior color with blue or white trim and interior.
The Explorer Ironman was available in only five colors: Oxford White, Ebony, Redfire, Silver Birch, as well as Orange Frost; which was a unique color only available with the Ironman package. The Ironman could be had with either the standard 4.0 L SOHC V6 or the 4.6 L V8, and in either standard RWD or 4WD configurations.
