Thurston Gardens are the botanical gardens of Fiji. They used to be known as the Suva Botanical Gardens but its name was changed in honour of the fifth Governor of Fiji, Sir John Bates Thurston, who was Governor from February 1888 to March 1897. Thurston Gardens is located in central Suva, between Albert Park and the Government House.
Established in 1872, Colo-i-Suva Forest National Park in Fiji is a two and a half square kilometres of verdant rain-forests renowned for tropical flora and birds. There are about four and a half kilometres of natural trails ploughing through the forests and natural water bodies to swim in.
Savusavu is located on Fiji's northern island of Vanua Levu. It can be reached by plane from Nadi (one hour) or by ferry from Suva or Lautoka (approx 12-hour trip). It is famous for its hot springs, located mostly opposite the Hot Springs Hotel – although at low tide the steam from numerous smaller outlets all along the foreshore can be seen.
The first stage of a new factory complex was commenced, opening in time to help in processing the 1980 Early Harvest. The establishment of the Tourist and Administrative Complex in Yandina during 1985 completed the industry's relocation program and in 1989, Buderim Ginger Limited was listed on the stock exchange. The Sacred Heart Cathedral [1] [2] or simply Cathedral of Suva, is the main ecclesiastical building of the Roman Catholic Church in the island nation of Fiji, [3] and is located on Pratt Street in the City of Suva, Fiji's capital. Suva Cathedral was built in 1902 with sandstone brought from quarries near Sydney, Australia. [4]
