Central Catholic High School is a private, Roman Catholic, Lasallian, all-boys college preparatory school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It is a part of the Diocese of Pittsburgh . The De La Salle Brothers administer and partially staff the school.
A native of the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Grgurich attended Central Catholic High School. [2] As a player at Pitt he led the team to two consecutive post season tournaments in 1963 and 1964. He then served 12 years (1964–1975) as an assistant coach and head of recruiting under Timmons and Ridl.
The Duquesne Country and Athletic Club would become the top pro team in the state in 1898 and 1899. In 1898 Latrobe and two players from the Greensburg Athletic Association, formed the very first professional football all-star team for a game against the Duquesne Country and Athletic Club, to be played at Pittsburgh's Exposition Park.

McDowell was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 21, 1942, one of six siblings. His father Thomas was a heat inspector for U.S. Steel. [1] He attended Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School, where he played baseball, basketball, football and track, graduating in 1960.
