Lake Elmo State Park The state park occupies 123 acres (50 ha) and is at an elevation of 3,199 feet (975 m). [ 2 ] It offers swimming and non-motorized boating on a 64-acre (26 ha) reservoir, three beach-front areas, fishing pier, grassed multi-use areas, two group-use shelters, playground, and fenced-in dog park on the lake's west side. Lake Elmo is a lake in Washington County, Minnesota, in the United States. [1] It is partially within Lake Elmo park reserve. The park also contains walking paths, camp grounds, playgrounds, and a swimming pond. The lake was named after the 1866 novel St. Elmo by Augusta Jane Evans. [2]
The city took its name from nearby Lake Elmo. [8] Lake Elmo began with one farm in 1852 on the southwest corner of the intersection of what is now Manning Avenue and 30th Street, just southeast of downtown Lake Elmo and across the highway from the Lake Elmo Airport (FAA LID: 21D). The barn was built in 1875 and restored as a house in 1998.
