SpaceX launched the satellite on its CRS-11 mission to the International Space Station on 3 June 2017. The satellite was carried in a Dragon spacecraft on a Falcon 9 rocket, launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center, LC-39A. This was the 100th launch from LC-39A and the first time SpaceX reused one of its Dragon capsules. [1]
The first Nigerian astronaut is currently expected to launch aboard a foreign spacecraft during sometime between 2015 and 2030. Negotiations with Russia were held in the 2000s on possibly using Russian rockets to launch the astronauts. However, Nigeria has now shifted to China, being the most likely country to ever launch Nigerian astronauts.
This article lists orbital and suborbital launches planned for the second half of the year 2025, including launches planned for 2025 without a specific launch date. For all other spaceflight activities, see 2025 in spaceflight. For launches in the first half of 2025, see List of spaceflight launches in January–June 2025.
This is a timeline of known spaceflights, both crewed and uncrewed, sorted chronologically by launch date. Due to its large size, the timeline has been split into smaller articles, one for each year since 1951. There is a separate list for all flights that occurred before 1951.

It was launched on 13 May 2007, on board a Chinese Long March 3B carrier rocket, from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in China. The spacecraft was operated by NIGCOMSAT LTD and the Nigerian Space Agency, NASRDA. On 11 November 2008, NigComSat-1 was de-orbit after running out of power due to an anomaly in its solar array.
Nigeria's space strategy was formulated in 2005 by NASRDA. The strategy contained a 25-year road map with three main objectives: [43] Produce a Nigerian astronaut by 2015, Launch a Nigerian manufactured satellite by 2018, Launch a Nigerian made satellite, from a Nigerian launch site, on a Nigerian manufactured launch vehicle by 2025.
NigComSat-1 was a Nigerian communication satellite. The initial contract to build the satellite was signed in 2004. It was launched in China by Nasrda and became the third African geosynchronous communication satellite, when it was launched at 16:01 UTC on 13 May 2007, aboard a Chinese Long March 3B carrier rocket, from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in China.
