Sun Records is an American independent record label founded by producer Sam Phillips in Memphis, Tennessee on February 1, 1952. [ 3 ] [ 2 ] Sun was the first label to record Elvis Presley , Charlie Rich , Roy Orbison , Jerry Lee Lewis , Carl Perkins , and Johnny Cash .
Roy Orbison's Sun recordings were made by Orbison at Sun Studio (The Memphis Recording Service) with producer Sam Phillips. Two Sun Records were offered on eBay.com in August and September 2006 and were pressed in Germany, probably around 1905–1912, for the Sun Record Company of Bombay, India, and referred to on the label as the Sun Disc Record to differentiate the discs from cylinder records also produced by the company.
