Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun is a Japanese anime television series adapted from the manga of the same name written and illustrated by AidaIro. It is animated by Studio Hibari's subsidiary Lerche and directed by Masaomi Andō, with Yasuhiro Nakanishi writing the scripts, Mayuka Itou designing the characters, and Yukari Hashimoto composing the music.
The "first installment" of the project, an adaptation of After-School Hanako-kun, aired from October to November 2023; a four-episode sequel aired in October 2024. A second season of the original anime premiered in January 2025. As of February 2024, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun had over 10 million copies in circulation.

Studio Hibari was founded in July 1979 in Ōizumi by former Tsuchida Production cel-colorist Sachiko Mitsunobu and her husband, anime director Hiroyoshi Mitsunobu []. [1] In 1985, the couple's son, Seiji, was appointed managing director of the company.
The anime television series produced by Lerche, directed by Seiji Kishi, and written by Makoto Uezu premiered on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block on July 2, 2015. The anime is licensed by AnimeLab in Australia and New Zealand and is being simulcast on their website as it airs in Japan. [ 4 ]
