Goku is pummeled by Cooler, who boasts and mocks him. However, after seeing a bird die from wounds inflicted by their fight, Goku reflects on the well-being of his loved ones. Goku retrieves the deceased bird and transforms into his Super Saiyan form, using his energy to revive it. Cooler finds himself grossly outclassed by Super Saiyan Goku.
Vegeta sends Goku to a medical machine to recover from his injuries, and Kuririn and Gohan go ask Dende to call the dragon. The Namekian dragon, Porunga, is able to grant three wishes but can only revive one person at a time. They ask to revive Piccolo so that Kami and Earth's Dragon Balls can return.
Babidi enters the spaceship, but Dabura suddenly flies over to the Z Fighters, and he kills Kibito. Goku and Vegeta take some shots at him, but they miss. Dabura spits on Krillin and Piccolo, turning them both to stone. The only way to revive them is to kill Dabura. This lures the warriors into the ship.
Goku fights Frieza first and quickly gains the advantage but the latter deduces that he is holding back, so the two foes agree to fight at full power. Goku and Captain Ginyu fight, and after a while Ginyu asks Goku to release his true power. Goku abides and begins to power up via the Kaio-ken.
Goku recovers from his injury and begins to chase Murasaki. Murasaki, then Goku, cross a piranha invested lake. Murasaki decides to use his ultimate technique and seemingly splits into five. The five Murasakis nearly overwhelm Goku. They reveal that they are quintuplet brothers, not five parts of one person. Goku takes them out one by one.
