The Slovakia national football team (Slovak: Slovenská futbalová reprezentácia) represents Slovakia in men's international football competition and it is governed by the Slovak Football Association (SFZ), the governing body for football in Slovakia. Slovakia's home stadium from 2019 is the reconstructed Tehelné pole in Bratislava.
The team first played in an international match on 27 August 1939, soon after the formation of the first Slovak Republic. The team played some matches during the Second World War, but after this it was subsumed within the Czechoslovakia national team. Slovakia became an independent state again in 1993, following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia.
The Slovak Cup is the football cup competition for Slovak club teams. It is organized annually by the Slovak Football Association (Slovenský futbalový zväz, SFZ). The cup has been held since the 1969/70 season, the first winner was Slovan Bratislava, who is also the record holder, with 17 titles.
In the 2020–21 season, the league comprises 16 football teams.
