The University of Iowa College of Dentistry is the dental school of the University of Iowa.It is located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States.It is the only dental school in Iowa and is one of only two dental colleges in the United States to offer all the American Dental Association (ADA) accredited dental specialty training programs.

The Dental Admission Test (DAT) is a standardized exam that assesses the academic ability and scientific knowledge of applicants to dental schools. [ 6 ] [ 7 ] [ 8 ] You must score high enough on the DAT exam to get into dental school.
The assertion that "dentistry was not a science" [15] reflected the view that dental surgery was an art informed by science, not a science per se—notwithstanding that the scientific component of dentistry is today recognized in the Doctor of Dental Science (DDSc) degree.
It was renamed in 1965 to recognize Shands's efforts to W. A. Shands Teaching Hospital and Clinics. [7] The institution later became Shands Hospital, part of the Shands HealthCare network. In 1969, the UF College of Medicine established a satellite campus in Jacksonville at Duval Medical Center; this was renamed University Hospital in 1971.
