1998–2000 Lexus LS 400 Designed through early 1996, in September 1997 a revised LS 400 was introduced for the 1998 model year. Changes were a five-speed automatic transmission, increased engine output to 216 kW (290 hp), with variable valve timing ( VVT-i ), and an added 41 N⋅m (30 ft⋅lbf) of torque. [ 60 ]
Lloyd LS400 (Kombi) The Lloyd 400 is a small car produced by the Borgward Group's Lloyd Motoren Werke GmbH (Lloyd Motor Works) in Bremen between 1953 and 1957. [1]As with its predecessor, the Lloyd 300, the full name of the Lloyd 400 featured a two letter prefix that identified the body shape as follows: LP400 ("Limousine" / saloon), LK400 (panel van) and LS400 (estate).

The XF10 LS marked the debut of both the LS model and the Lexus brand. Toyota is a Japanese automaker that was founded in 1937 by Kiichiro Toyoda. [1] [2] In August 1983, Toyota chairman Eiji Toyoda initiated the F1 project ("Flagship" and "No. 1" vehicle; alternatively called the "Circle-F" project), a clandestine initiative aimed at creating a world-class luxury sedan for the global market. The project, code-named F1 ("Flagship One") [11] developed the Lexus LS 400 to expand Toyota's product line in the premium segment. [12] The F1 project followed the Toyota Supra sports car and the premium Toyota Mark II models. [13] Both the Supra and Mark II were rear-wheel drive cars with a powerful 7M-GE or 7M-GTE inline-six engine.
Originally used for Lexus vehicles in the Middle East, it was introduced in 2010 in other markets to replace the 2UZ-FE engine in truck and SUV applications. This engine produces 322 hp (240 kW; 326 PS) at 6,900 rpm and 46.9 kg⋅m (460 N⋅m; 339 lb⋅ft) at 4,400 rpm in the Lexus GS and LS.
