Border border. Put a small border around the image. Location right, left, center or none. Determine the horizontal placement of the image on the page. This defaults to right for thumbnails and framed images. Alignment baseline, middle, sub, super, text-top, text-bottom, top, or bottom. Vertically align the image with respect to adjacent text.

Per WP:NFCC#9, it is not permitted to display non-free files outside the article namespace, so this template can't be used for non-free files.
If you want to use this template to an image, that's useless (there is also |style= parameter in the image syntax for this purpose), but if you want to use this templates for other area (such as text), you can still make use of this template for customize purpose.

Any text from the border should instead be in the caption. If the border has author or license information, add it to the file's EXIF information. To crop the image yourself, use the CropTool.
