The New South Wales XPT (short for eXpress Passenger Train) is a class of diesel-powered passenger trains built by Comeng and ABB. Based on the British Rail -designed High Speed Train , each XPT set comprises two XP power cars in a push-pull configuration and, between them, between four and seven passenger carriages.
The contract specified new seating, buffet upgrades, new carpets, toilet upgrades, DVA upgrades, extended booked luggage section, and more wheelchair spaces for the trains. Bombardier Transportation, Downer Rail and United Group Rail responded, with Bombardier being the successful bidder. All units were repainted into new CountryLink colours.
The Xplorers are a class of regional train built between 1993 to 1995.
